Stevens discusses her parents, Charles C. and Kate K. Bovey. Her father was an officer at Washburn Crosby Milling Company and her mother was active in many Minneapolis civic organizations. She talks about growing up in Minneapolis, attending Northrop Collegiate School, spending summers on Lake Minnetonka.
